Leadership Can Be Unpredictable at ADB
Pros: The job security for this international organization is solid. It's a stable career in international development. You get to work on impactful projects, especially as an Operations Analyst in the Manila office.
Cons: Leadership can be a real hit or miss here. Some managers are great, others are just not effective at all. Decision-making is often slow, which frustrates us on the ground.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs more consistent training. Empower middle managers to make decisions faster. Cut down on unnecessary layers of approval.

Leadership is a bit of a mixed bag
Pros: Some team leaders are truly inspiring, especially when you're working on critical development projects. You learn a lot from senior staff with deep experience in international development. The support in the Manila office for core project work is solid.
Cons: Leadership can be pretty inconsistent across departments. There's often too much focus on internal politics instead of project outcomes. It feels like decision-making for development projects takes ages sometimes, which is frustrating.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to standardize leadership training. Focus less on internal power struggles and more on empowering project teams to deliver development impact. Speed up decision-making processes for those critical development projects.

Leadership is a mixed bag for Project Analysts
Pros: You get to work with some truly smart and dedicated folks in the Manila office. There's good opportunity to learn a lot, especially as a Project Analyst within development finance. It's a stable place within the international aid sector.
Cons: Leadership can be pretty bureaucratic here. Decision-making feels super slow, which is tough when you're trying to move projects forward. Some managers are great, others aren't supportive at all, making it hard for junior roles.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline decision processes and empower mid-level managers more. Invest in better leadership training for newer team leads to ensure consistent support across teams.
