WFH Helps, But Workload Is Heavy
Pros: I do like the flexibility of a WFH setup, which is a big plus. It's nice not having a commute, and that helps a bit with daily life, especially in a busy city like Berlin. For someone in software development, the projects are often interesting too.
Cons: The work-life balance itself can be tough, though. Project deadlines in IT consulting are often unrealistic, leading to long hours. Sometimes, it feels like there's an expectation for 24/7 availability, which is draining for a global IT firm.
Advice to Management: Management needs to set more realistic expectations for project timelines and actively encourage teams to log off. Burnout is a real concern in this kind of fast-paced IT consulting environment.

Work-Life Balance is Okay, Project Dependent
Pros: I've been working as a Software Engineer here, and the hybrid model is a big plus. You get to work from the Noida office a couple of days a week, which is nice for collaboration. For many IT consulting roles, there's a good team culture that tries to respect personal time.
Cons: But honestly, the work-life balance can really swing. Some software development projects have crazy deadlines, so expect long hours then. It's tough when project managers don't push back enough on client demands, making late nights common.
Advice to Management: Managers need to really protect their teams from unreasonable client demands. It's crucial for employee well-being in a global IT firm like ours.

Decent Pay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: The base salary for software development roles is competitive for an IT services company. I mean, it's not FAANG money, but it's a solid offer, especially if you're remote.
Cons: Annual raises are kinda small, and the bonus structure isn't very transparent. Don't expect top-tier 401k matching or amazing healthcare plans either. They could definitely improve the overall compensation package.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously review the compensation and benefits strategy. To attract and keep top engineering talent, you've gotta offer more than just an okay base. Look at improving retirement plans and health benefits.
