Decent pay, but benefits could improve
Pros: The base salary for us software engineers was pretty good, especially for the HR software industry here in Manila. They offer a pretty solid HMO plan, which is a big plus.
Cons: I felt the other benefits were just okay, not really standing out for a tech startup. Things like gym memberships or more extensive professional development funds for engineering roles weren't really there.
Advice to Management: Maybe look into expanding the benefits package a bit, especially for long-term employees. More perks could really help with retention in the competitive tech market.

Culture's changed, but still a solid job
Pros: It's pretty solid for a Software Engineer here. The work-life balance is decent, and I rarely worked more than 40 hours a week. The HR tech industry is cool, and you get to learn a lot.
Cons: The company culture feels less like a startup now, more corporate. There aren't as many team bonding events as before. It's just harder to feel that close-knit vibe, even in the Manila office.
Advice to Management: Try to bring back some of the startup energy and unique company culture we used to have. More team-building initiatives, especially for hybrid teams, would help boost morale.

Solid Role in HR Tech, Job Security is Fine
Pros: The demand for HR software is always there, so I felt pretty secure in my Client Support Specialist role. Sprout Solutions has a good client base, which helps with job security in the tech industry. We always had plenty of work.
Cons: Sometimes internal team structures shift, which can make you wonder about long-term roles. Growth can be a bit slower than some other big tech companies. There aren't many clear paths to advance sometimes.
Advice to Management: Focus more on clear career progression paths for Client Support and other teams. Communicate changes better to help with employee confidence.

Fast-Paced But Good Vibe at Sprout
Pros: The teams are really close and collaborative. As a Client Success Manager, it's easy to get help from colleagues. There are always fun activities happening, which is cool.
Cons: The workload can get intense really fast. You'll often find yourself working extra hours, even with the hybrid model. It can be tough to just disconnect after work.
Advice to Management: Maybe look into better workload distribution across teams. Promote actual downtime, not just talk about it.

Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: The base pay for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent, especially for a startup in Manila. They pay you on time, which is always a plus. Health insurance is standard and gets the job done.
Cons: Raises aren't very competitive, so it's tough to see significant salary growth over time in the HR technology industry. There aren't many extra perks or bonus structures beyond the basic benefits package. It can feel like you're underpaid compared to other tech companies.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing salary bands and implementing a clearer, more competitive bonus structure for all roles, including engineers. This would really help with retention and overall employee morale.

Solid team, but leadership needs more focus
Pros: I loved my teammates; we had a really collaborative vibe. As an HR Solutions Specialist, I got to work on some interesting projects for HR software. The hybrid work setup in our Manila office was also a big plus for work-life balance.
Cons: Leadership sometimes struggled with clear direction. It felt like decisions changed often, which made our work inconsistent. There's not always a super clear career path either.
Advice to Management: Focus on consistent communication and empower mid-level managers. Make sure vision is clear across all teams, especially for product development.

Leadership needs serious work here
Pros: The team I worked with directly as a Customer Success Specialist was pretty solid, good folks. We had a decent hybrid work model which was a plus for my commute in Manila.
Cons: Leadership from the top down often felt out of touch. There's a real lack of clear direction, making it tough to hit goals. Decisions for this HR tech company often came late or changed suddenly.
Advice to Management: Please listen to your frontline employees more. Provide clearer strategies and invest in training for middle management. Better communication would make a huge difference in this startup environment.
