Decent benefits, but salary could be better
Pros: They offer good health insurance and the pension contributions are decent for a legal tech startup. I've seen worse benefits packages out there. The hybrid work setup also feels like a nice perk.
Cons: The pay for a Junior Software Engineer just isn't very competitive. It's tough to make it work in London on this salary, especially compared to what bigger tech companies offer for similar software development roles. Salary reviews don't happen often enough.
Advice to Management: Look into making salaries more competitive, especially for engineers. It's tough to attract and retain talent in the London market without better compensation. Regular, clear salary reviews would really help.

Solid Startup for Legal Tech Talent
Pros: The company has strong growth, which makes you feel pretty secure. As a Software Engineer, the projects are interesting. Being in the legal tech industry is definitely exciting.
Cons: It's still a startup, so job security can feel a bit up and down. Things can change quickly, which is a common challenge. Some team reorgs created slight uncertainty.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate changes more proactively. Giving clearer roadmaps would help with job security concerns, especially for growing teams.

Solid tech, but leadership needs refining
Pros: The product itself is genuinely good, especially if you're into document automation and legal tech. I learned a lot technically as a Software Engineer. The team itself is collaborative and friendly, which makes the day-to-day pretty decent in the London office.
Cons: Leadership can be a bit inconsistent; communication isn't always clear, especially for an early-stage company. Sometimes it feels like they're just reacting instead of planning ahead. This can make project goals pretty fuzzy.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer communication and setting more stable, long-term visions. This would really help with team morale and project execution for engineering roles. More structured feedback would also be helpful.
