Pros: I really liked the hybrid work model at Lavasource. For a tech startup in San Francisco, having two days remote was solid. It makes commuting into the city easier and offers some work-life balance.
Cons: Flexibility can depend a lot on your direct manager. Some teams had stricter meeting schedules, making fully flexible hours tough. It wasn't always easy to shift things around if you needed to.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the approach to work flexibility across all engineering teams. Some managers are great about it, others not so much. Make sure every Software Engineer gets the same options.
