Pros: The job security for an Assembly Line Technician here is pretty solid. We get decent benefits and the pay is okay for the Detroit, MI area. It's a consistent 40-hour week, so you always know your schedule ahead of time, which helps with planning.
Cons: Work flexibility is almost non-existent for production roles. You're tied to the factory floor during your fixed shifts. Trying to swap shifts or get time off can be a real hassle, especially if it's last minute. No remote options at all, obviously.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to offer a bit more flexibility, even small things. Maybe a more streamlined process for shift changes or offering more PTO days for critical needs. It would really help morale on the production floor.
