Pros: The health insurance benefits here are actually decent, which is a big plus for a tech startup. As a Junior Data Scientist, I appreciated the unlimited PTO too, it's pretty standard for the industry. They offer a hybrid work model which helps with flexibility.
Cons: But the salary for data science roles isn't super competitive, especially in the Austin, Texas market. The 401k match isn't great either, it feels pretty low compared to other companies. It's tough to save much on this compensation.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the compensation structure for entry-level tech roles, especially for those in data science. A stronger 401k match would also make a huge difference in attracting and retaining talent in a competitive market like Austin.
