Pros: The hybrid model is a huge plus; I'm usually in the Austin office only two days a week. As a Software Engineer, I generally stick to standard 40-hour weeks, which is solid for the industry. There's good flexibility if you need to WFH for personal stuff.
Cons: Sometimes, project deadlines get super tight, especially in our agile environment, and then you're putting in extra hours to ship. It can be tough to completely unplug when things are busy. Leadership sometimes doesn't set the clearest boundaries.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer expectations on project scope and deadlines. Help teams avoid crunch time whenever possible to maintain better work-life balance for everyone in software development.
