Growth is Possible, But You Need to Push
I've been with CommandLink for a couple of years as a Sales Engineer, working remote from Texas. It's a decent mid-sized company in the telecom services space. Career growth isn't handed to you, but there are opportunities if you're proactive.
There's some internal movement if you ask for it. I've seen a few people move into leadership or different technical roles. They do offer a small annual training budget, which is helpful for keeping up with new cloud solutions.
Formal career paths aren't really clear here. It feels like you have to really advocate for your own promotions and development plans. There isn't a structured mentorship program, which makes it tough for new Sales Engineers to get ramped up quickly.
Create clearer career progression frameworks for technical roles like Sales Engineer. A formal mentorship program would also boost internal talent development in our mid-sized company.
