Remote Work is Solid for Software Engineers
Pros: I've enjoyed the remote work flexibility as a Software Engineer. Being able to set my own hours within reason makes a huge difference for work-life balance in the cybersecurity industry. It's great not having to commute.
Cons: Sometimes the tools for collaboration aren't the best for a fully remote setup. Communication can be a bit spotty across different time zones, and it feels like some teams struggle more than others with the remote model. Onsite colleagues seem to get more face time with leadership.
Advice to Management: Invest more in universal remote collaboration tools and processes. Make sure remote employees feel just as connected and seen as those in the office to avoid a two-tier system.

Decent Place for Cybersecurity Professionals
Pros: The pay and benefits are quite solid here, which is always a plus. They do support a hybrid work model, which helps with work-life balance for software development roles. It's a well-known name in the cybersecurity industry.
Cons: The company culture can feel really corporate sometimes, a bit slow-moving. Getting things done fast is often tough due to bureaucracy. Sometimes it feels like there's less room for innovation than you'd expect in big tech.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline decision-making processes. Empower teams to move faster and reduce the corporate overhead. Foster a more agile environment for engineers.

Senior Software Engineer

Leadership can be a real mixed bag here.
Pros: The pay and benefits package is pretty solid. There's always interesting cybersecurity problems to solve for us engineers. Some of the team leads are genuinely supportive and understand the technical work.
Cons: Upper leadership's vision changes way too often. It's hard to get real momentum when priorities shift quarterly. This makes it tough for remote Senior Software Engineers to stay focused. It can feel like we're constantly reacting instead of building.
Advice to Management: Please try to establish and stick to a clearer, longer-term vision. Constant priority shifts hurt morale and project delivery. Support middle management better, they're often stuck between a rock and a hard place.
