Jacobs culture is okay, but can be slow.
Pros: I liked the people I worked with; my team in the Dallas office was solid. They really support professional development if you ask, which is good for your career. The hybrid model definitely helps with work-life balance too.
Cons: The company culture can be a bit bureaucratic. Getting decisions made on some large-scale infrastructure projects took ages. Sometimes, it felt like my contributions as a Civil Engineer weren't always recognized quickly.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up decision-making processes, especially for new initiatives. Empower teams more on local projects to foster better engagement.

Work-life Balance is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: You learn a ton, especially for large infrastructure projects. There's good job security too, which is nice. Our hybrid work arrangement in the Denver, CO office helps a bit.
Cons: It's really tough to keep a 40-hour week. Project deadlines can easily push you to 50+ hours. Remote work often just means more hours, not true flexibility for engineering roles.
Advice to Management: Management needs to set more realistic project timelines. We can't keep pushing engineers to work so many extra hours without burnout. Respect personal time.

Culture varies, good for engineering careers
Pros: The resources for career growth are solid for engineering consulting. I've learned a lot as a Civil Engineer. The hybrid work option in the Dallas office is also a definite plus for flexibility.
Cons: The company culture can feel pretty impersonal sometimes due to its size. It's tough to build a strong community feel outside your immediate team. Some project deadlines are pretty intense, which impacts work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Focus on initiatives that help employees connect across different teams. Make leadership feel more approachable to combat the big corporate vibe.
