Pros: As a Software Engineer working remotely from Austin, the base pay at OS1 Solutions Inc. is pretty solid for a mid-sized tech company. I was making around $85k, which isn't bad. Plus, they do offer a 401k match, which is always nice to have.
Cons: But honestly, the health insurance plans could be way better; high deductibles mean you pay a lot out of pocket. Also, there's not much in the way of performance bonuses or stock options for us individual contributors in software development. Feels like they could do more.
Advice to Management: Seriously consider improving the health insurance options and adding some form of equity or more meaningful performance bonuses. It would really help with retention in this competitive IT consulting space.
