Leadership is hit or miss here
Working at Probots has its ups and downs, especially with management. Some teams have pretty solid leaders, but others really struggle. It's a typical startup vibe in the AI development space, so you kind of get what you expect.
The remote work flexibility is a big plus for a `startup`, which I really appreciated. Some of the tech leads are genuinely smart and great at `AI development`. My direct manager was mostly supportive when I was `working remotely`.
Upper management often feels out of touch with what's happening day-to-day, especially for `remote software engineers`. Important decisions just come down from the top without much real input. It can be hard to get clear direction on big projects.
You should try to get more honest feedback from `remote employees` on their direct leadership. Make sure there's clearer communication around company decisions. Invest in training for middle managers on how to lead effectively in `AI development` roles.
