Aflac Benefits are Really the Star Here
Pros: The benefits package at Aflac is seriously good. As an Associate Account Manager, I had excellent health insurance and a strong 401k match, which is important in the supplemental insurance industry. It really helped with my financial planning.
Cons: While the benefits are great, the base salary for account manager roles in the Columbus, GA office felt just okay. It's tough to get significant raises without moving up. Commissions could be inconsistent, making it hard to plan.
Advice to Management: Think about more competitive base salaries for entry to mid-level sales roles. It would help attract and retain top talent, especially when comparing to other corporate insurance carriers.

Hybrid Work's Okay, But Could Be Better
Pros: The hybrid model is solid for Claims Adjuster roles. I liked having specific WFH days, which helped avoid the daily commute to the Columbus, GA office. It definitely offers a decent amount of flexibility.
Cons: While the hybrid setup for our supplemental insurance processing is good, it's not truly flexible for everyone. You're usually tied to specific in-office days. It isn't fully remote, so sometimes you feel stuck.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more fully remote options or at least more choice in hybrid days. It would boost morale, especially for long-term insurance professionals.

Solid Stability for Remote Insurance Roles
Pros: Working for a major player in the supplemental insurance industry definitely means stability. As a Claims Adjuster, I always felt my job was secure, even with the shift to remote work from Texas. They're a long-standing company, which helps.
Cons: While job security is good, growth can feel a bit slow for some roles. It can be tough to see clear upward mobility. There aren't many opportunities to really stand out and advance quickly.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating more defined career paths for employees beyond their current role. This would help retain talent and boost morale.
