Former Associate Consultant

Decent place for financial software consulting
Pros: The training for new Associate Consultants is solid. You learn a ton about trading systems and risk management from the ground up. It's a global software company, so there's good exposure, especially for those working onsite in the Paris office.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for consulting roles. Long hours are common, and it's not always super flexible with work arrangements. Internal communication sometimes feels a bit clunky, and the hierarchy is pretty strong here.
Advice to Management: Try to improve work-life balance for junior consultants and streamline internal communication. More work flexibility would definitely help retention.

Solid Base Pay, Benefits Are Just Okay
Pros: As a Technical Consultant in their Paris office, the base salary was pretty competitive for a big corporate player in capital markets software. They paid decently for someone just starting out in fintech. The health insurance plan was also quite comprehensive, which is a plus.
Cons: Annual raises were usually pretty small, barely keeping up with inflation, which felt tough. Bonuses weren't a big part of the compensation package for my role, and they often felt arbitrary. You don't get much in terms of other perks or flexible benefits either.
Advice to Management: Review the annual raise structure to make it more impactful and transparent. Consider a more robust bonus program that truly rewards individual performance for roles like Technical Consultants, especially within the competitive fintech industry.

Leadership has its moments, but needs work
Pros: You get to work with some really complex capital markets tech here. As a Financial Software Engineer, the technical challenges are usually pretty engaging. The teams are solid and generally supportive in the London office.
Cons: Leadership can be inconsistent, especially with setting realistic project timelines. There's often a disconnect between management's vision and what's actually feasible for developing trading platforms. Career progression for technical roles isn't always super clear.
Advice to Management: Management should really work on clearer communication and setting more realistic expectations for teams. Bridge the gap between strategic goals and day-to-day execution, especially on large trading platform implementations and risk management software projects.
