Align Technology

Pros: I've really enjoyed my time at Align Technology. The culture is collaborative, and my colleagues in product management are super supportive. It's a great place for learning and developing new skills, especially in the medical device and dental technology space. The hybrid work model has been a huge plus for my work-life balance, allowing me to be productive both at home and in our San Jose office. We're always working on innovative products like Invisalign, which is exciting.
Cons: While it's a generally stable environment, sometimes the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, which can delay getting projects off the ground. Also, career progression sometimes feels a little slower than I'd like, especially for senior roles. The compensation, while decent, isn't always competitive with pure software tech companies, which can be a point of frustration for some.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval workflows to empower teams and review compensation benchmarks regularly to stay competitive for top talent.

Pros: The hybrid model for Clinical Support Specialist roles is a definite plus. It’s nice to have some work-from-home days. You can often adjust your schedule a bit if needed, which helps with appointments.
Cons: It’s not truly flexible for everyone; you're still expected in the Raleigh, NC office a few days a week. Some dental technology teams have less flexibility than others. It can be tough when you need to be onsite.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility across all departments, especially for customer service and healthcare support teams. More options for fully remote would be great.

Pros: The benefits package is pretty solid for the medical device industry. We had a decent 401k match. Health insurance plans were quite good too. As a Software Engineer, the base pay wasn't bad to start.
Cons: Annual raises were usually very small. It's hard to keep up with cost of living in San Jose this way. Total compensation, including stock, just doesn't match top tech companies. You can't really negotiate much after your initial offer, which is tough for technical roles.
Advice to Management: Please look into making annual raises more competitive. Retaining good talent, especially Software Engineers, means keeping pay aligned with the market. Also, consider more flexibility for hybrid work.
