Mechanical Engineer

Okay for stability, slow for career movement
Pros: It's a stable, big corporate company. Job security for technical roles is pretty solid here. The pay and benefits for an industrial engineering professional are decent, especially working remote.
Cons: Career growth is super slow. You can get stuck in the same engineering role for years, even if you perform well. There's not much investment in internal development or training programs for advancement.
Advice to Management: Management should really invest more in developing employees for future roles. Create clear career progression paths, especially for us in engineering and other technical roles. It would help a lot with retention.

Solid culture for engineers, some quirks
Pros: The teams are pretty collaborative. As a Software Engineer, I found support from my peers when I needed it. There's a decent focus on work-life balance in our Austin, TX office.
Cons: It's a mid-sized tech company, so things can feel a bit corporate at times. The company culture can be cliquey outside of your direct team, which makes cross-department collaboration tough. Don't expect huge social events.
Advice to Management: Encourage more cross-team activities to break down silos. A stronger onboarding for company-wide culture could help new hires feel more integrated.

Hybrid Model Works Okay, Room to Improve
Pros: The hybrid work arrangement is a real plus for my commute into the Austin, TX office. I've enjoyed the ability to work from home a couple of days a week as a Marketing Coordinator. It helps with personal appointments.
Cons: Work flexibility could be better; we still have pretty strict core hours even on WFH days. Sometimes I feel like I'm dragged into the office for no real reason, which defeats the point of a hybrid model. It's a bit rigid for a modern corporate company.
Advice to Management: Really lean into the idea of trust and flexibility. If people are hitting their goals, does it matter when exactly they log on? Make office days more intentional for collaboration, not just mandatory attendance. Give more autonomy, especially for established marketing roles.
