Good challenges, but job security is a concern
Pros: I've learned a ton here, working with smart folks. The tech problems are engaging, and the compensation for my role is competitive. They do a decent job with remote work setup.
Cons: Job security is a real worry. There's been a few rounds of layoffs, even for people working remote from Texas. It makes you feel like your spot isn't always safe in this growing tech company.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent about the company's financial health. It would help ease some of the anxiety around job security.

Culture's good, but the pace is intense for a startup
Pros: The people here are genuinely smart and collaborative. We often had good syncs, even with the remote work setup. There's decent investment in diversity and inclusion, which felt genuine for an e-commerce startup.
Cons: The pace can be brutal, especially for engineering roles. You're expected to move really fast, which impacts work-life balance a lot. There's sometimes a 'work harder' mentality instead of 'work smarter,' which can lead to burnout.
Advice to Management: Try to ease up on the constant urgency. Empower teams more to push back on unrealistic deadlines for this B2B wholesale marketplace. More focus on sustainable work rhythms would help with retention.

Leadership's Trying, Still Room to Grow
Pros: It's cool working on a B2B marketplace that actually helps small businesses. My direct manager was generally solid and supportive. They do try to foster teamwork across engineering teams, which is nice.
Cons: Leadership above the direct manager level can be a bit disconnected. Communication for product direction changes often feels last-minute, which is tough for technical planning. It's frustrating when big decisions from the executive team aren't clearly explained to us in the San Francisco office.
Advice to Management: Work on more consistent and transparent communication from senior leadership, especially around strategic shifts. Ensure that decisions are cascaded clearly down to individual contributors, like us Software Engineers, well in advance.
