Leadership is Okay, Culture Has Potential
Pros: The remote work flexibility is a big plus; it made balancing life much easier. For us Software Engineer roles, the projects were often interesting, especially in the IT services sector. You get decent exposure to different tech stacks.
Cons: Leadership can be inconsistent. There's not always a clear vision, and sometimes decisions feel a bit ad-hoc. Career growth for junior folks wasn't always obvious; mentorship felt lacking.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing middle management. Provide clearer growth paths and more consistent direction from senior leadership for all our IT consulting teams. Better communication would go a long way.

Okay Remote Work, But Project Demands Are Real
Pros: Being fully remote as a Software Engineer is a big plus here. It really helps with my daily schedule and cuts down on commute time. They've been pretty good about flexible hours for individual contributors in IT services.
Cons: Sometimes, project deadlines can make that work-life balance tough, even with remote work. There's not much room for true 'work whenever' flexibility; you still need to be online during core business hours for team syncs.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize project loads so the flexible work model isn't undermined by crunch times. More clarity on core hours versus flexible hours would help remote teams.

Solid Start, But Career Growth Gets Stale
Pros: As a Software Engineer, I've had good exposure to different tech stacks and client projects. It's a decent place to pick up new skills, especially if you're new to the IT industry. The work flexibility for remote employees is a real plus here.
Cons: The career path isn't always clear, especially if you're looking to move into senior roles or management within this mid-sized IT firm. Promotions can take a really long time to happen. It feels like growth opportunities are more about changing projects than actual role progression.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer, more transparent career progression paths for all roles. Invest in formal mentorship programs for employees looking to advance beyond entry-level positions. Make sure promotions aren't just about tenure but also about actual skill development and impact.
