Okay work-life for a corporate Fintech role
Pros: The hybrid work model is a big plus; you're not stuck in the Alpharetta, GA office five days a week. For a Software Engineer, the projects are interesting, dealing with critical payment processing systems. You can usually get your 40 hours done if you manage your time well.
Cons: Deadlines can be pretty brutal, especially when a new Fintech product is launching. This definitely impacts your personal time. Sometimes there's pressure to put in extra hours, which isn't great for consistent work-life balance in a corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to avoid those last-minute crunch periods. It would help a lot with employee burnout.

Decent pay, but benefits could improve
Pros: Pay for software engineers is actually pretty competitive, especially compared to other payment processing companies. The 401k match is solid, and there's a good amount of PTO.
Cons: Healthcare benefits aren't great; the premiums are high for what you get. Stock options aren't really a thing for my level, which is a bummer for a global company. Annual raises are usually pretty small.
Advice to Management: Improve the healthcare plans and offer better long-term incentives for all employees, not just senior management. It'd help with retention.

Okay place, but leadership needs a refresh
Pros: The hybrid work model is pretty good; I'm in the Atlanta office a couple of days a week. My engineering teams are smart and supportive. We work on interesting payment solutions, which keeps things engaging for a big tech company.
Cons: Leadership often feels out of touch with the day-to-day for Software Engineer roles. Decisions from upper management can be slow, affecting project timelines for payment terminal features. Career growth isn't always clear, which is frustrating.
Advice to Management: Listen more to your technical teams, especially those building the core payment solutions. Improve communication on strategic decisions and clarify career progression for engineers. It would help a lot with morale and efficiency.
