Pros: The hybrid model is actually pretty good for most of the engineering team. We get two days WFH, which helps a lot with personal appointments. It's a decent perk for a mid-sized tech company in San Francisco.
Cons: True work flexibility beyond the set hybrid days just isn't there. As a Software Engineer, I'd appreciate more autonomy. They're strict about office days, which feels a bit old school for the tech industry, especially when working on software development tasks.
Advice to Management: Listen to the technical teams about remote options. More flexibility would boost morale and probably retention for Software Engineers. Trust your employees to get the work done, no matter the location.

Pros: You learn a ton, super fast, especially in software development. The San Francisco office environment is lively. Colleagues are smart and you get to work on cool tech projects.
Cons: Expect long hours, especially close to release cycles. As a Senior Software Engineer, I often worked 50-60 hour weeks. It's hard to make plans outside of work sometimes. They preach work-life balance, but it's not always practiced.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce reasonable work hours. Manager expectations need to align with actual project timelines. More attention to preventing burnout would help a lot.
