Leadership has a vision, execution can be tough
Pros: It's cool to work with such smart people. The founding team has a really clear vision for `AI research` and `constitutional AI`. You feel like you're building something important in this `big tech` space.
Cons: Sometimes, leadership decisions feel a bit top-down, especially for `AI Research Engineers`. Communication about changing priorities isn't always smooth. It can make hitting deadlines really hard, even in our `hybrid` setup in `San Francisco`.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the ground-level `AI research engineers` and improve communication on strategic pivots. Transparency helps everyone stay aligned.

Good work flexibility at this AI startup
Pros: I've really appreciated the hybrid model here. As a Software Engineer, I can work from the San Francisco office a few days a week and then remote the rest. They don't micromanage schedules, which is great for personal life.
Cons: Sometimes collaboration on large language models can be tricky with everyone on different schedules. It's a fast-paced AI startup, so deadlines can sometimes push against that flexibility.
Advice to Management: Keep promoting the flexible work options but also ensure clear communication for hybrid teams tackling complex AI projects.

Good Compensation, Benefits Are Okay
Pros: The base salary here is really competitive, especially for AI Researcher roles. I've seen strong compensation for specialized machine learning roles. Stock options in an AI startup like Anthropic are also a big plus right now.
Cons: Benefits aren't quite big tech level yet. Health insurance plans could be more comprehensive, and there aren't many extra perks. As a remote employee, I wish there was more budget for home office upgrades.
Advice to Management: Keep an eye on improving the overall benefits package to match the top-tier salaries. Better health coverage and more WFH stipends would be a huge plus for the remote team.
