Stable Broadcast Tech, Culture Can Be Traditional
Pros: It's a really stable company, especially for Software Developer roles focused on broadcast technology. You get to work on some pretty interesting video infrastructure projects. Benefits and pay for the industry are generally decent.
Cons: The company culture can feel pretty old-school and slow to adapt sometimes. There's often a big push for onsite work in the Burlington, Ontario office, so work flexibility isn't their strong suit. It can be tough to get new ideas heard.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern work flexibility and open communication. Listen to your Software Developer teams more for new ideas and ways to improve processes. A more dynamic company culture would help a lot.

Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for Software Developer roles is competitive enough for the Burlington area. You get standard health coverage, which is fine, and there's a solid matching program for the RRSP.
Cons: Salary growth feels slow, even after a few years in media solutions. Don't expect huge bonuses or stock options here. The benefits package isn't as robust as other mid-sized tech companies.
Advice to Management: Consider improving the overall compensation package, especially for experienced Software Developers, and revisit the benefits to match industry standards in broadcast technology.

Decent place for stability, but expect slow changes.
Pros: Job security is good here, especially for Software Engineer roles. They've been around a while in broadcast technology. I felt pretty safe from layoffs even during industry shifts, which is a big plus for an established tech firm like Evertz in Burlington, Ontario.
Cons: Career growth can feel slow. There aren't many opportunities for rapid advancement if you're hoping to climb the ladder quickly. The pace of change for new technologies sometimes feels a bit behind the curve too.
Advice to Management: Focus more on modernizing development practices and offering clearer paths for career growth for individual contributors. It would help retain talent in the broadcast technology space.
