Leadership is learning, typical for a startup
It's been an interesting ride at DevRev. As a Software Engineer, I've seen some good things, but leadership could definitely use some tuning up. It's a growing AI/DevOps startup, so there's that learning curve.
The pace is fast, which is great for learning new tech and jumping on various product development tasks. I've had good exposure to different parts of our SaaS platform. The remote work setup from California is super flexible, which I appreciate.
Sometimes the strategic direction feels a bit shaky. Leadership can be inconsistent with messaging for a growing AI/DevOps startup. It can be tough to get clear answers on long-term project goals, which impacts daily sprint planning for us engineers.
Try to communicate a clearer, more consistent product roadmap to the teams. Empower mid-level managers more to drive initiatives without constant pivots from the top. This will help with engineering efficiency.
