Pros: I've really appreciated the hybrid work options; it makes commuting to the Washington D.C. office less of a daily pain. For higher education roles like mine, there's decent flexibility to manage personal appointments, which is a big plus. We get solid PTO too.
Cons: The workload can swing wildly, especially during peak project cycles. It's tough to consistently stick to 40-hour weeks. Sometimes leadership expectations feel a bit much, making true work-life balance hard to achieve for research teams.
Advice to Management: Managers should be more mindful of fluctuating workloads and encourage teams to truly disconnect during off-hours, especially for those in client-facing or research roles. It would really help with burnout.
