Culture's fine, but prepare for the grind
Pros: You get to work in a fun golf course environment. My coworkers were really solid and we helped each other out. There's good potential if you're into the golf industry and want to climb the ladder, especially in golf operations.
Cons: The work-life balance isn't great, especially for onsite roles. Long hours are common for Assistant Golf Professionals during busy periods. Sometimes the corporate decisions felt a bit disconnected from daily club operations, impacting morale.
Advice to Management: Try to better understand the day-to-day challenges faced by staff at the individual golf courses. More support from corporate would really boost team morale across all club operations.

Culture Is Okay, But It's a Grind
Pros: I've met some genuinely great people here. The team environment, especially among fellow Member Services Associates, is pretty supportive. We help each other out during busy golf season weekends.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit top-down sometimes. There's not always a lot of recognition for the hard work, especially with long onsite hours. High member expectations are tough, and management doesn't always back you up.
Advice to Management: Try to acknowledge employee efforts more often. Create a culture where staff feel supported, especially when dealing with difficult members. Listen to the frontline teams; they know what's really happening.

Leadership is a mixed bag here
Pros: Some general managers, especially those with real golf industry experience, are really great mentors. They get the grind of running a country club. You can learn a lot from the good ones on how to handle onsite operations.
Cons: The corporate leadership in Dallas feels pretty disconnected from what happens on the ground. There's often a lack of clear communication, and decisions can seem to come out of nowhere. It makes it hard for us in golf operations to plan effectively.
Advice to Management: Corporate leadership needs to engage more directly with onsite teams. Listen to the managers and staff who are running the golf courses daily. Better training for new GMs would really help.

Solid start in the golf operations world
Pros: It's a pretty good spot to get your feet wet in the golf industry. As an Assistant Golf Professional, I got solid experience in daily golf operations. They do offer initial training which is helpful for new hires.
Cons: Career growth really slows down after a couple of years. There isn't a clear path for promotions to Head Pro or management here. Many folks leave to find advancement outside the Dallas, TX Arcis clubs.
Advice to Management: Focus more on clear promotion paths for Assistant Golf Professionals. Give us reasons to stay long-term instead of looking elsewhere. Invest in developing internal talent.
