Work-Life Balance is Decent, Can Be Challenging
Pros: I liked the hybrid work model; it gave some flexibility during the week. For a large corporate environment, the benefits package was solid. When things weren't crazy busy, you could generally stick to your 40-hour weeks.
Cons: As a Claims Adjuster, it's easy to get overloaded, and that definitely impacted my personal time. There were periods where I worked more than 50 hours trying to keep up with claims. It can be tough to truly unplug after hours.
Advice to Management: Management needs to better address workload distribution, especially for claims processing teams. More staffing or better tools could really help prevent burnout for insurance professionals.

AIG's hybrid model: not bad, but pretty strict.
Pros: The hybrid work model is a decent perk here. As a financial analyst, I get a couple remote days, which really helps with the NYC commute. It's not fully WFH, but it's a solid benefit in the financial services industry.
Cons: True work flexibility isn't really a thing for most. You're expected in the New York City office 3 days a week, no matter what. It's tough if you need more remote time, and the big corporate environment just isn't built for it.
Advice to Management: Consider giving teams more autonomy with their hybrid schedules. Letting people WFH an extra day could boost morale without hurting productivity.

Decent Stability for a Big Insurance Company
Pros: As an Underwriter, I felt pretty secure in my remote role. It's a large corporate company; they aren't going anywhere fast. The benefits package is solid for the insurance industry.
Cons: Frequent team restructures can make you feel a bit unsettled. Even at AIG, you don't always know what's coming for your department. It impacts your overall job security vibes.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate changes more clearly and further in advance. Constant reorgs create unease among employees, especially concerning their job security in specific product lines.
