Pros: The job security for a Database Administrator is pretty solid. You're WFH, which is great for work-life balance. We handle a lot of database management, so you do get good exposure to different client environments, which helps with general experience in IT services.
Cons: Career growth here feels stagnant for data roles. There aren't many clear paths to move up unless someone leaves. Promotions and skill development can be tough to get approved, even for experienced staff.
Advice to Management: Develop clearer career progression frameworks for technical roles. Invest more in employee training and certification programs to foster internal talent.

Pros: The remote work setup is great, I can WFH from Dallas, TX. That flexibility really helps with my schedule. Most days, my core tasks are during business hours.
Cons: The on-call rotation for database services can be a real killer for personal time. Sometimes there are urgent issues on cloud migration projects that lead to long nights. It's tough to fully switch off.
Advice to Management: Please look into better staffing for the on-call rotations. It would seriously help the Database Administrator team's mental health.

Pros: The base salary for my Database Administrator role was pretty solid. They offer a 401k with a decent match, which is good for an IT services company. Working remote from my home office was a huge plus, saving on commute time and costs.
Cons: Health insurance options felt a bit pricey, especially for my family. Paid time off wasn't as generous as some other places in cloud solutions. Annual raises weren't super impressive, just kind of average.
Advice to Management: Revisit the health insurance plans to make them more affordable. Make PTO more competitive to attract and keep top talent in database management. That would really help.
