Solid Tech Company with Good People
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at ECI, I've found a genuinely collaborative environment within the tech industry. There are consistent learning opportunities, and I feel supported by my colleagues. The remote work flexibility is excellent, contributing to a good work-life balance. It's a stable place to be.
Cons: Sometimes the internal communication between teams could be clearer. The project approval process can also feel a bit drawn out, which occasionally slows down new initiatives.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving inter-departmental communication and look into streamlining project approval workflows to boost efficiency.

Flexibility is a real sticking point here
Pros: The benefits package is pretty solid, especially health insurance. Teams in the New York City office are generally good people to work with, and there's a decent sense of job security in this corporate environment. You learn a lot if you're new to financial services software.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't great for us as Software Engineers. The hybrid model feels pretty rigid, and getting approval for true remote work options is a constant battle. It feels like they're stuck in older ways of working for the IT solutions department.
Advice to Management: Please rethink the approach to work flexibility for technical roles. Trust your employees more with remote work options; it'll boost morale and likely productivity. Update policies for the modern workplace.

Decent tech company, but WLB is a struggle
Pros: The hybrid model helps with flexibility, especially in the New York City office. You can mostly stick to 40 hours as a Software Engineer if you're really good at setting boundaries. It's not the absolute worst in the demanding IT services industry.
Cons: Project deadlines mean longer nights are common for engineering roles. Management often pushes really aggressive timelines. Those remote from home days sometimes blend into working extra hours.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic project expectations and timelines. Don't constantly overload the engineering teams; it burns people out. A better work-life balance would really help morale.
