Pros: You're surrounded by incredibly sharp people every day. For software engineer roles, the tech challenges in quantitative finance are truly interesting and push you. The perks in the Chicago office are solid; free food and good facilities are a plus.
Cons: The company culture can be pretty cutthroat sometimes. There's a constant expectation to be 'on', which definitely impacts your work-life balance. It's probably not the place for you if you prefer a very relaxed atmosphere.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more collaboration instead of pure competition in daily tasks. Recognizing that mental well-being impacts long-term productivity could really help.
