Good Place for Engineers in Cloud Communications
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at 8x8 (a key player in cloud communications) from our Campbell, CA office has been a good experience. The hybrid work model is excellent for work-life balance. I appreciate the collaborative teams and the learning opportunities on our SaaS platform. It's a stable environment with interesting technical challenges.
Cons: Promotion paths can sometimes feel a bit slow, which is a minor drawback for career growth. Also, there are a few older systems that could be modernized to improve efficiency in day-to-day operations.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the promotion process to better reward employee contributions and invest more in modernizing legacy systems for improved operational efficiency across teams.

Good Place for Learning and Collaboration in Cloud Tech
Pros: I've really enjoyed the team environment here. My colleagues are super supportive, and there are always opportunities to learn new tech in the UCaaS and CCaaS space. We're building important features for enterprise clients. The hybrid work model is a huge plus, offering good flexibility. It's a stable company in the SaaS industry, which provides good job security.
Cons: Sometimes the internal communication could be clearer, especially across different departments and global teams. It feels like information doesn't always flow smoothly. Also, career growth can feel a bit slow, without very explicit paths for advancement within the software engineering track, which can be frustrating if you're looking for rapid promotions. The internal approval processes for projects or changes can sometimes drag on a bit, too, slowing down execution.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal communication channels across the board and making career progression paths more transparent and explicit for engineering roles to help employees plan their development.

Career Growth is a Bit Stagnant Here
Pros: The remote work flexibility is really good. You can balance personal life pretty well, and they do a decent job with the UCaaS platform. There's good access to learning platforms if you're proactive.
Cons: Career growth for engineering roles often feels like an afterthought. There isn't a clear path for advancement, and promotion cycles can be slow. It's hard to get exposure to new technologies or different parts of the VoIP solutions.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer career progression frameworks for individual contributors, especially for engineers. Invest more in internal training and give people opportunities to rotate teams or projects to broaden their skills on the UCaaS platform.
