Pros: The team in the Dallas, TX office is really supportive. I've learned a lot in my first few years as a Staff Accountant. There's a decent focus on employee development, which is good for junior talent.
Cons: Work-life balance can be rough, especially during tax season. It's a large firm, so sometimes you feel like a number. The hybrid work model is fine, but it still means a lot of long hours.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to alleviate the intense busy season pressure, even small things help. More clarity on promotion paths would also be a plus for new Staff Accountants.

Pros: There's definitely good job security here, which is huge in the accounting industry. As a Staff Accountant, I always felt my role was safe, even during economic shifts. They offer solid career growth opportunities for those in public accounting roles. You learn a ton and get exposed to different clients and industries.
Cons: The work-life balance can be really tough, especially during busy season. Expect long hours, which can make the hybrid model feel less flexible. The pay and benefits are decent, but you earn it with the amount of overtime you put in. It's typical for a large accounting firm, but doesn't always feel fair.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to balance workloads better outside of busy season. Employee burnout is real and affects retention.

Pros: During the off-season, work-life balance isn't too bad. We get some decent hybrid work options, which helps a lot. It's a solid place to learn for an entry-level tax professional.
Cons: Busy season hours are brutal, it's just expected in public accounting. You'll regularly hit 60-70 hours as a Tax Senior Associate. It can really burn you out trying to juggle personal life with that kind of schedule in the Chicago office.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to staff better during busy season. The burnout rate for tax professionals is high, and it's mostly due to unsustainable hours. More support or better resource allocation could help.
