Solid Telecommunications Career with Good Support
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time here as a Network Engineer in the telecommunications industry. The team is incredibly supportive, and there are always opportunities to learn new technologies and skills. It's a stable company, which offers good job security, and I appreciate the hybrid work model that gives some flexibility. The company culture encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Cons: While there are growth opportunities, the career progression can sometimes feel a bit slow. The approval processes for new initiatives can also be a bit bureaucratic, which occasionally impacts project timelines. Communication could be a little more streamlined across different departments, but it's not a major issue.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining some of the internal approval processes to help projects move faster. Also, clearer paths for career advancement would be a great benefit for employees.

Field Service Engineer

Work-life balance is okay, not perfect, for field roles
Pros: I've been with Eastern Communications as a Field Service Engineer in the Manila office for a while. The daily grind isn't too bad; I usually stick to 40-hour weeks. It's nice not to be constantly worried about work spilling into my personal time, which is tough to find in other telecom companies.
Cons: When there are big network maintenance projects or unexpected outages, expect long days. Those weeks can be a real drag, and it's mostly onsite work that demands your full attention. It's not a consistent 9-to-5, so flexibility is key.
Advice to Management: Try to staff more during peak project times to lessen the burden on individual Field Service Engineers. Better forecasting for network upgrades could help in managing expectations for work-life balance.

Leadership can be a mixed bag here
Pros: It's a solid place for Client Support Specialist roles if you like helping customers. The team in the Manila office is super supportive, which helps when things get tough. You do learn a lot about the telecommunications industry hands-on.
Cons: Leadership changes seem frequent, which makes things a bit unstable. Sometimes there's no clear direction from top management for our daily tasks. It's hard to feel like you're growing when strategic decisions aren't consistent.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more consistent direction and stability for the teams. Clear communication from upper management would really help everyone understand goals better.
