Established over 45 years ago, Kinetic has grown to become the largest bus operator in Australia and New Zealand, and a global, multi-modal transport network with operations that span across the UK, Europe and Singapore.
We began in 1978 with Melbourne’s Skybus – a cost efficient, reliable airport transfer service. Today, we manage a global network of bus and rail services, with a team of 36,000 dedicated people and 11,000 buses seamlessly moving over 100 million passengers every year.
We’re the trusted operator of urban, regional, school and charter bus services across Australia and New Zealand. We operate 40 per cent of buses in Queensland, a third of Melbourne’s bus network, and almost half of bus services in Tasmania. In NZ, we’re proud to partner with councils in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Tauranga.
Our expertise spans continents, operating in five countries across Europe. In the UK, we run the Go Ahead network – alongside joint venture partner Globalvia – which includes the Govia Thameslink rail link, the largest and most complex rail system in the country.
We believe in improving the communities in which we live and operate, and making a positive impact on people’s lives.
We’re removing the diesel buses that emit millions of tons of greenhouse gases every year. We’re putting women up front. And we believe in LGBTQI+ inclusion and the freedom to be your true self.
Governments, airports, businesses, schools and councils count on us every day. You too, can count on Kinetic.

Pros: As a Marketing Coordinator, I value the supportive colleagues and strong learning opportunities. It's a stable company with good autonomy. Flexible work options significantly help with work-life balance in our industry.
Cons: Career progression can feel a bit slow, and clear advancement paths aren't always evident. Internal communication between departments sometimes lacks clarity, occasionally impacting project coordination.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer advancement paths and improving inter-departmental communication to streamline projects and empower employees' career journeys.

Pros: I've enjoyed the hybrid work setup here in Austin, TX. It's great to have the flexibility, and most weeks, as a Data Analyst, I can keep things to a solid 40 hours. There's usually no weekend work, which is a big plus.
Cons: Sometimes, project deadlines can make for really long days. There's also an on-call rotation for the data platform that can mess with your evenings. It's a common issue in the tech industry, but it still impacts personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to staff projects better to avoid crunch periods for Data Analysts. Also, review the on-call burden; it could be spread out more or compensated better.

Pros: My direct manager was pretty solid and supportive. They genuinely cared about the team and individual growth, which is great for remote Software Engineers. The company also offers good health benefits for a mid-sized tech company.
Cons: Upper leadership feels pretty disconnected from what we do on the ground. Strategic decisions for our employee benefits platform often come out of nowhere. It makes it tough to feel aligned or understand the bigger picture.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent with strategic changes. Connect more with individual teams, especially those working remotely. Consistent communication from the top would help a lot.
