Okay Pay, Benefits Could Be Better at Omnicell
Pros: The starting salary for an Implementation Specialist was actually pretty good. Basic health benefits are solid and kicked in quickly. It's competitive with other healthcare automation companies in the Pittsburgh, PA area for similar hybrid roles.
Cons: Raises don't really keep up with inflation; they're often pretty small. The stock options for individual contributors aren't great, almost an afterthought. There's not much negotiation room for salary or bigger bonuses once you're in.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously look at the compensation structure. Make raises more meaningful and consider boosting stock options for long-term employees, especially for those in critical medication management technology roles.

Leadership needs more focus on us
Pros: I've learned a ton about healthcare automation and pharmacy solutions. The team in the field is really supportive. It's great to directly help customers with their automated dispensing systems.
Cons: Leadership often seems out of touch with what Field Service Engineers actually deal with daily. Decisions come down that don't make sense for our workflow or the patient care environment. It's frustrating when they change policies without understanding the real impact.
Advice to Management: Listen more to your Field Service Engineer teams. Get out into the field occasionally to see how your policies impact operations and customer sites. Understanding our day-to-day would really help with decision-making for our medical technology products.

Leadership has its moments, but needs work
Pros: Some team leads are really supportive. They genuinely care about our projects and provide good direction, which is great for us working remotely. We've had decent mentorship opportunities in the healthcare automation industry, which helps skill development.
Cons: Upper management feels pretty disconnected. It's tough to get clear decisions, and sometimes we get conflicting priorities for our software projects. Communication about big company changes isn't always strong, especially from corporate leadership.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving transparency from the top. Help mid-level managers get more decision-making power. Work on better communication for strategic shifts.
