Pros: For a startup environment, the work-life balance is actually solid most of the time. We have a good hybrid model in the San Francisco office, which helps. As a Software Engineer, I usually don't feel completely swamped unless it's a big release week.
Cons: It's not always easy to disconnect, especially during agile sprints. There are definitely times when I'm working late, and some managers expect quick replies after hours. If you need a strict 9-to-5, this probably isn't it.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer expectations for off-hours communications. Supporting technical roles better during heavy release periods would really improve morale and prevent burnout.

Pros: When I started as a Software Engineer, the company culture at this tech startup was awesome. Everyone was super collaborative and happy to help, especially in the Austin office. There was a real sense of shared goals, even with our hybrid work model.
Cons: Lately, after the big funding rounds, it's gotten a bit more corporate. The close-knit feel is fading, and there's more internal competition between software development teams. Communication from leadership isn't always clear, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Management needs to actively work on preserving the startup culture that made it great. More transparent communication and fostering team connection, especially across hybrid teams, would help a lot.

Pros: The team itself is really solid. I've learned a ton working alongside other Software Engineers, especially on challenging new features. We had good project autonomy for a while, which was awesome.
Cons: Leadership can feel a bit disconnected from the day-to-day work, especially for remote employees. Sometimes decisions take forever, and it's tough to get clear answers on future direction. Career growth for engineering roles wasn't super clear.
Advice to Management: Try to engage more directly with individual teams and understand the on-the-ground challenges. Clearer communication about company vision and career paths would help a lot for us Software Engineers.
