Remote Work-Life Balance is Fine Here
Pros: I really appreciated the WFH option for my Marketing Coordinator role. It's nice not having a commute, especially in the digital marketing space. Most weeks felt like a solid 40 hours, which is decent for a tech company.
Cons: There were definitely periods, especially with big client deadlines or new product launches, where it felt like more than 40. As a remote employee, it's easy for work to bleed into personal time when you're always connected.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage workload distribution during peak campaign periods for digital marketing teams. It would help prevent burnout for remote employees.

Decent but demanding work-life balance at Vocus
Pros: You get to work on cool projects in the PR and marketing software industry, which is exciting. The hybrid work model helped some weeks, letting me manage personal stuff better. Most of my colleagues were great people to be around too.
Cons: As a Marketing Specialist, hours often stretched past 40 a week, especially near product launches. It was hard to completely unplug even with the hybrid setup. Sometimes, leadership expected quick turnarounds on big campaigns.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage workload distribution across teams, especially for Marketing Specialist roles. More realistic deadlines would help prevent burnout.

Job Security Can Be a Bit Shaky Here
Pros: The WFH setup is great for work-life balance. I appreciate the flexibility and not having a commute. They've got decent tools for digital marketing tasks too.
Cons: Job security for roles like mine as a Marketing Specialist feels pretty low. There's constant restructuring for this mid-sized tech company. You always wonder if your role will be next on the chopping block.
Advice to Management: Management needs to be more transparent about company direction and avoid constant reorganizations. It really impacts morale and makes people worry about their positions.
