Good pay, but flexibility is tough.
Pros: You get a great salary and benefits package here, which is standard for a **proprietary trading firm**. You also learn a lot, especially if you're new to **high-frequency trading** systems. The **Chicago office** is really modern and well-equipped.
Cons: The **work flexibility** is pretty limited. They really push for **onsite work** for most roles, even for us **Software Engineer** folks. It's a tough place if you're hoping for a consistent hybrid model or remote options.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more options for a **hybrid work model**, especially for non-trading roles. It would help with employee retention and attract a broader talent pool.

Leadership is just okay, good learning experience
Pros: You'll definitely learn a ton here, especially as a Quantitative Trader. The work in high-frequency trading is really challenging and sharp. Pay and benefits are top-notch, which helps make up for other stuff.
Cons: Leadership doesn't always communicate clearly. It feels like they're sometimes out of touch with the day-to-day for people in the Chicago office. Career growth can also seem a bit opaque at times.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent with company direction and strategic changes. More consistent feedback and development plans for trading roles would also be a big plus.

Job Security is Solid, but Performance is Key
Pros: Job security here is pretty solid, especially if you're consistently performing well. For quantitative trading roles at a big trading firm like this, they value proven results. The company generally doesn't lay off unless things are really bad or your output dips.
Cons: It's a high-pressure environment, so you always feel the need to perform. If market volatility drops, or your strategies stop working, there's definitely pressure. You're evaluated strictly on P&L, which can be tough in this industry.
Advice to Management: Maybe offer a bit more transparency around performance metrics and career paths. It sometimes feels like a black box for growth beyond just P&L.
