Company Reviews

Since 2003, Movember has built a global men’s health movement, funding more than 1,300 projects around the world, challenging the status quo,
shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men. Movember has taken on three of the biggest health
issues affecting men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide.

Movember has:

▪ Invested almost $350 million in over 600 biomedical research projects, focusing on prostate and testicular cancer.
▪ Funded 4 prostate cancer registries, with over 200,000 men enrolled from 23 countries.
▪ Supported interventions designed to assist and guide men through the prostate cancer journey, offering them resources and information so
that they are empowered to make their own decisions, manage symptoms and share lived experiences.
▪ Since taking on mental health and suicide as a cause area in 2006, Movember has united experts, funded bold new approaches and embraced
fresh perspectives. We’ve focused on prevention, early intervention, and health promotion through a male lens.

Movember is for everyone, not just for men. We are a health movement and our invitation to take part is open to everyone. We champion healthcare that
is sensitive to the needs of everyone, including men, so that everyone benefits. And we have a strong focus on how improving men's health can have a
profoundly positive impact on women, families, and society as a whole.

But we lead the charge in encouraging men to adopt healthy behaviours, challenging health systems and confronting gender norms to reduce health
inequalities and save more lives. To donate or learn more, please visit Movember.com.

Great mission, culture needs more connection
Pros: The mission is genuinely motivating. You feel good knowing your work supports men's health campaigns, especially in this charity sector. There's a strong sense of purpose among colleagues and the core values are really clear.
Cons: It can feel a bit fragmented. Different teams sometimes operate in their own bubbles, which makes cross-departmental collaboration tough. The hybrid work model sometimes makes it harder to connect face-to-face, which impacts company culture.
Advice to Management: Really focus on breaking down those internal silos. Encourage more inter-departmental projects and clearer communication, especially with the hybrid team setup. This would really boost the company culture.

Okay flexibility for a hybrid setup
Pros: As a Program Manager in the London office, I've found the hybrid work model pretty good. You can usually WFH 2-3 days a week, which is a big help. This flexibility is solid for the non-profit sector.
Cons: It's definitely not a fully remote job for most roles, so don't expect that. Sometimes the in-office days feel a bit rigid, even with the hybrid setup. There's less work flexibility for junior roles too, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for more true flexibility where possible. Clearer guidelines on WFH days for different teams would help reduce confusion and benefit all staff, especially those in junior roles.

Passionate Culture, but It Can Be Intense
Pros: Everyone's truly dedicated to men's health, which is inspiring. As a Campaign Coordinator, I felt my work directly contributed. The non-profit industry here has a strong sense of purpose.
Cons: The enthusiasm can lead to some long hours, especially during the Movember campaign month. Work-life balance gets tough then. There's sometimes a pressure to go above and beyond, even in the Melbourne office, impacting personal time.
Advice to Management: Keep fostering the strong mission-driven culture, but implement better strategies to prevent burnout during peak times. More focus on sustainable workloads for project-based roles would really help.
