Good people, but culture needs a polish
Pros: Some teams are really collaborative. I've found a few great mentors, which is super helpful for junior Fund Administrator roles. The Amsterdam office is pretty modern, and the hybrid work option makes a big difference for flexibility.
Cons: There's definitely high pressure, especially during peak times for asset management and reporting. The company culture feels a bit disconnected between certain departments. Plus, seeing some staff turnover affects team morale.
Advice to Management: Focus on bridging the gap between departments to build a more cohesive environment. Also, acknowledge and address the high-pressure periods to help prevent employee burnout.

Work-Life Balance is a Real Struggle Here
Pros: My colleagues in the New York City office were awesome, and I definitely picked up a lot on complex fund administration. The hybrid work setup was a nice plus when you could actually use it.
Cons: Honestly, the work-life balance for Senior Accountant roles is pretty tough. You're constantly working long hours, especially during close periods. It's hard to have much of a personal life.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously look at staffing levels and workload distribution. The burnout is real, and it affects employee retention.

Work-Life Balance is Okay, Not Great
Pros: The hybrid model for fund administration roles is a big plus. We get a decent amount of WFH days, which really helps with commutes in NYC. Generally, outside of quarter-end close, hours aren't too bad, maybe 45 hours most weeks.
Cons: During quarter-end close, you definitely expect long hours, sometimes 60+ for a week or two. It's tough to plan anything social then. They could offer more flexibility around those peak times, even as a mid-sized corporate in financial services.
Advice to Management: Consider offering compressed workweeks or more flexible hours during non-close periods to offset the busy times. It would really help retain talent in the NYC financial services market.

Decent Pay for Fund Admin, Benefits Need Work
Pros: As a Senior Accountant, the base salary for fund administration roles is pretty competitive. I've gotten decent annual bonuses during my time here, which helps offset other things. They offer solid health insurance coverage too.
Cons: The annual raises are really small, often barely keeping up with inflation, so don't expect big jumps in your base pay. Compared to other firms in the private equity space, the benefits package feels pretty basic; there aren't many extra perks.
Advice to Management: Seriously review the compensation bands for core roles like Senior Accountant and improve annual raise percentages to better retain talent. Consider enhancing the overall benefits package to be more competitive in the financial services market.
