Singlife meets diverse customer needs by offering a comprehensive suite of insurance products, including life and health, general insurance and investments, employee benefits and financial advisory solutions.

We achieve this through a differentiated, open-architecture distribution model and Singapore’s largest network of financial advisers.

A pioneer in the digital insurtech space, we offer digital solutions accessible through the Singlife App and GROW with Singlife, an investment platform.

We are a key player in the employee benefits solutions space and are the exclusive insurance provider for the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Officers Group Insurance Scheme. We’re also one of three government-approved long-term care insurance providers in Singapore.

We take our commitment to achieving Net Zero seriously and are an official signatory of the United Nations Principles for Sustainable Insurance and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.

Singlife was formed from the merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife, originally an insurtech start up, in January 2022. Singlife is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life, who acquired Singlife in 2024. We have over S$16 billion in assets as of 31 December 2024 and are rated “A” and “Baa1” by Fitch and Moody’s respectively.

Sumitomo Life was established in 1907 and is one of Japan's largest life insurance companies, with over US$300 billion in assets as of 31 March 2025.

Great Flexibility, Supportive Team in Financial Services
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time as an Operations Analyst in this financial services company. The hybrid work setup is fantastic, giving me good flexibility to manage personal and professional life. My team is super supportive, and there are always chances to learn new processes and systems. It's a stable environment, which is great for long-term career planning in the insurance industry here in Singapore. They really value collaboration and a balanced approach.
Cons: Sometimes the approval processes can feel a bit slow, especially for new initiatives, which can be a little frustrating when you're trying to move fast. Also, promotion opportunities for an Operations Analyst might not be as rapid as in some other fast-paced tech firms, but it's steady if you're patient. Occasional busy periods are expected.
Advice to Management: Streamlining some of the internal approval workflows could really boost efficiency. Continue fostering career development programs, especially for those in operations roles, to clarify growth paths.

Hybrid is Fine, But a Bit Rigid for Tech
Pros: It's good that there's a hybrid model, so I'm not stuck in the office five days a week. Being able to WFH two days really helps when you need to focus on coding. It's a decent option for an entry-level software engineer, better than fully onsite.
Cons: Having to be in the office three fixed days a week can be tough. Sometimes I wonder why I'm commuting when my team isn't even there. There's not much flexibility if you need to juggle personal stuff, which makes work-life balance a bit harder than it should be in a modern fintech company.
Advice to Management: Trust your teams more with their WFH days. For software engineering roles, more autonomy in the hybrid schedule would really improve morale and productivity. It'd help attract and keep good talent in this competitive fintech market.

Hybrid Work is Decent, Could Improve
Pros: I've really appreciated the hybrid work model. It's usually 3 days in the Singapore office, 2 days WFH. This setup helps a lot with personal appointments and avoiding daily commutes, especially useful for many financial services roles.
Cons: The flexibility can be pretty rigid. My remote options are fixed WFH days; there's no real choice on which days. It often feels like management still prefers everyone onsite, which isn't always ideal for true work-life balance in the insurance tech sector.
Advice to Management: Give teams more autonomy over their hybrid work schedule. Trust employees to manage their time and tasks, rather than enforcing strict office days. Genuine flexibility boosts morale.
