Pros: I really appreciate the stable environment at EGGER UK. The direct leadership and my team in Hexham are super supportive, which is great for learning the ropes in timber processing. Good job security here.
Cons: Career progression is quite slow. Also, while immediate leadership is good, broader communication from senior management sometimes lacks clarity. Work-life balance can be a bit challenging during busy periods.
Advice to Management: Improve transparency and communication from senior leadership regarding company direction and career pathing. Consider reviewing internal promotion processes to foster more opportunities for long-term employees.

Pros: The shift patterns are set, so you always know your schedule as a Production Operative. It's good for planning ahead if you can make those hours work. There's decent job security in this corporate manufacturing environment.
Cons: Work flexibility is pretty much non-existent for onsite roles. It's tough to swap shifts, even with advance notice. If you need WFH or hybrid options, this isn't the place for you in the Northumberland operations.
Advice to Management: Look into ways to offer even small amounts of flexibility for tenured employees. It would really help morale for those in production roles.

Pros: It's a really stable place to work in the wood-based panels sector. My team, for an onsite manufacturing role, was actually pretty great. You feel like you're part of something local in Hexham.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit stuck in the past. Getting new process improvements approved as a Process Engineer takes forever. There's not much flexibility or push for fresh thinking.
Advice to Management: Try to open up more to new ideas. Listen to the folks on the shop floor about changes. It's time to update some of those older ways of doing things.
