Hybrid Model Isn't Always What You Think
Pros: You do get some flexibility with the hybrid model. It's nice to break up the week at the Dallas, TX office. For a Software Engineer, having a couple of WFH days is okay.
Cons: But true work flexibility for IT consulting roles isn't really there. The 'hybrid' really means 3 days in office, no exceptions. Can't shift days or work fully remote much.
Advice to Management: Listen to employees on what hybrid means to them. More trust and options for remote work would go a long way, especially for Dallas-based teams handling IT consulting.

Good for Starters, Not for Long-Term Growth
Pros: I've learned a lot on different software development projects here. It's a decent place for entry-level Software Engineers to get started. You get exposure to various tech stacks working remote from home.
Cons: Career growth is super slow, especially for IT consulting roles. There isn't a clear path for promotion or skill development. Senior roles don't open up often, so it's tough to move up.
Advice to Management: You really need to invest in clearer career paths and mentorship programs. It'd help a lot with retention if employees felt like they could actually grow within the company beyond entry-level positions. Think about creating more opportunities for skill advancement.

Leadership needs a reality check here
Pros: I really liked the remote work setup. It gave me a lot of flexibility as an IT consultant. We also got to work on some pretty interesting client projects, which was good for trying new things in IT.
Cons: The leadership team often seemed out of touch with daily operations. Their decisions felt very top-down, and communication was usually vague, especially regarding project changes. There wasn't much clear direction for career growth in this mid-sized consulting firm.
Advice to Management: Try listening to your team more, especially those of us handling client-facing IT solutions daily. Improve how you communicate expectations and give us a clearer path for professional development.

Decent for a tech firm, but work-life balance struggles.
Pros: They offer some good WFH options, which is nice. As a Software Engineer, I get to work on various client projects, helping skill development. The team in the Dallas, TX office is generally supportive.
Cons: Work-life balance can be a real struggle here. Often, there's pressure to put in 50+ hours a week. Especially when a project deadline is tight for tech consulting. You really have to push back for your time.
Advice to Management: Try to manage client expectations better. Give your Software Engineers more bandwidth. Don't always rely on overtime to meet project deadlines.

Culture has its moments, but needs work
Pros: The teams themselves are pretty solid. You'll find good, collaborative folks in Software Engineer roles here. Plus, the work-life balance is often decent, which is a big plus for a remote setup.
Cons: It's tough to feel fully connected to the overall company culture sometimes. Communication from top-down leadership in this IT consulting space can be really inconsistent, creating silos. It feels less like a unified team and more like several small ones in this smaller corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Work on more transparent and consistent communication, especially for remote employees. Foster a more cohesive company-wide culture, not just team-specific ones.

Pay is okay, but benefits need work
Pros: The base salary for IT Support Specialist roles here is pretty standard for the Dallas market. You get paid every two weeks, which is solid. They do offer a basic 401k plan.
Cons: Healthcare plans aren't great; high deductibles make them tough to use. There's no real bonus structure for tech support roles, which stinks. I feel like other IT solutions companies offer better perks.
Advice to Management: Invest in better healthcare options and consider performance bonuses for tech support teams.

Decent flexibility for an IT services company
Pros: I appreciated the hybrid model offered for IT Consultant roles; you can work from home a few days a week. It really helps with my commute to the Dallas, TX office. There's some flexibility to adjust your start time too if you need to.
Cons: But honestly, client emergencies mean WFH isn't always an option. Sometimes you just have to be onsite, even if you planned to be remote. The 'flexible hours' can mean working late to finish a project, not just shifting your day around.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations so consultants aren't always jumping through hoops. Consistency in remote work policy would be great for the IT services teams.

Okay stability, project-based work can be dicey
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer, I appreciate that Falcon Smart IT tries to reassign you between software development projects. They don't just ditch you right away. For full-time IT consulting roles, there's usually a heads-up if things are changing.
Cons: But, honestly, job security is pretty shaky. If a major client contract ends, layoffs happen fast. It's common in this mid-sized tech company to feel a bit insecure, especially if you're remote from somewhere like Houston.
Advice to Management: Focus on securing longer-term contracts to provide better stability for the engineering team. More transparency around future project pipelines would help a lot.
