Solid Job Security in a Big Industry
Pros: If you're looking for stability, Cemex delivers. Being a large global company in the heavy building materials sector, there's always work. My role as a Logistics Coordinator felt secure; they don't do mass layoffs often.
Cons: Career growth can feel really slow sometimes. It's a big corporate environment, so promotions take a while, and there's a fair bit of red tape. Don't expect rapid advancement.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up internal promotions and offer more clear career paths for dedicated employees in roles like logistics and supply chain.

Onsite Culture, Not Much WFH Flexibility
Pros: I've learned a ton about the heavy building materials sector as a Logistics Coordinator here. The team in the Houston, TX office is genuinely great to work with. There's pretty solid job security, which is good for a big corporate company.
Cons: Honestly, work flexibility is almost non-existent. It's strictly onsite for my role, so there's really no WFH options available. The 8-5 schedule is rigid, making it tough to handle personal stuff without using PTO.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously look into offering some WFH days, even one or two a week, for roles that can support it. More flexible hours would also make a huge difference for people trying to balance life outside of work.

Corporate Culture is a Bit Slow, but Steady
Pros: It's a very stable place to work, which is good for job security in the construction industry. Benefits are decent for a big global company. As a Logistics Coordinator, I appreciated the structured environment and good team camaraderie.
Cons: The culture can feel pretty old-school and bureaucratic. Decisions move very slowly, which can be frustrating if you're looking to innovate. There's not much flexibility, as most roles are strictly onsite in the Houston, TX office.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and speed up decision-making processes. Modernizing the approach to employee engagement could really help.
