Good Place for Software Engineers in Gaming Tech
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at IGT in the gaming tech industry, I've really appreciated the supportive colleagues and strong opportunities to learn new software development skills. The company offers good stability and a decent work-life balance, which is important for my hybrid role in Las Vegas.
Cons: Sometimes the internal approval processes for new features feel a bit slow, making projects drag. Career advancement, while available, can occasionally be slower than expected for a software engineer.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest management focuses on streamlining internal project approval workflows to speed up new feature implementation. Also, clearer career pathing and mentorship programs would greatly benefit software engineers looking to advance within the company.

Pay is decent, benefits are okay
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer at IGT is solid. It's pretty competitive with other corporate tech companies in the Las Vegas market. The health insurance package is decent, better than some places I've seen.
Cons: Bonuses aren't super consistent, and they can feel pretty small sometimes. The 401k match isn't fantastic; it's just okay for a big gaming tech company. There aren't many unique perks offered, which you might expect.
Advice to Management: Look into making the 401k match more competitive to attract and retain top talent. Also, consider adding more unique benefits beyond the standard package, especially for technical roles.

Okay culture, really depends on your team
Pros: The teams are generally pretty solid here. I had good colleagues as a Software Engineer. There's a decent focus on learning new tools, which is great for staying current in the gaming technology industry. Some employee events are fun.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit old-school, especially for a tech role in the Las Vegas office. Decisions often take too long to happen. It's a large corporate environment, so expect bureaucracy. Innovation sometimes gets bogged down.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and speed up decision-making. Foster a more modern and agile environment across all departments, not just pockets. Encourage more cross-team collaboration within the Las Vegas office for a better sense of community.
