Decent flexibility, but can be a grind
Pros: The remote work setup is great, really helps as a Security Consultant. I can pretty much make my own hours around client needs. It's a big plus for fitting in personal stuff.
Cons: However, those client project deadlines in the cyber security industry can get intense. You're often working more than 40 hours a week to keep up. It's hard to avoid burnout during peak times.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads and client expectations to reduce the pressure on Security Consultants. More active support for avoiding burnout would be good.

Leadership is a bit inconsistent here
Pros: The technical talent in the Manchester office is genuinely strong. You really learn a lot from your peers in cybersecurity consulting. They do offer a decent hybrid work model too, which helps with work-life balance.
Cons: Leadership is pretty inconsistent across different teams. Some managers are solid, but others really struggle with clear communication or setting realistic expectations. For penetration testing projects, we often felt like we weren't fully supported from the top.
Advice to Management: Please invest more in leadership training, especially for new managers promoted from technical roles. Help them learn how to lead people and manage projects effectively. Better communication on project scopes from senior leadership would also make a huge difference.

Solid job security if you're good
Pros: If you're skilled in the cybersecurity industry, especially for security consultant roles, you'll likely feel pretty secure here. There's always client demand, so the project pipeline stays full. It's a decent place for steady work.
Cons: The job security can feel tied to specific projects. If your specialty isn't in high demand or a big client leaves, it can feel a bit uncertain. Not much room for slacking off, which is tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Keep investing in diverse client portfolios to ensure more consistent work for all consultants.
