Project-based work has its pros and cons

Working here has its ups and downs. If you're always on a client project, it's pretty good. But the time between projects can be a real worry. You definitely feel the pressure to secure your next gig.

Pros

It's a solid place if you're consistently staffed. As a Senior Software Engineer, I've had some engaging digital transformation projects. The team culture in the Dublin office is generally supportive and friendly.

Cons

The biggest con is job security between projects. There's real pressure to find a new role internally, or you risk being on the bench. For technical roles, if you're not client-facing, that bench time can be stressful with a hybrid model.

Advice to Management

Try to provide more clarity and support for employees between projects. The uncertainty really impacts morale and job security perception for many, especially in IT consulting.

Decent Flexibility, But Depends on Project
Pros: As a Software Engineer, I've got a decent hybrid model option; usually two days in the Dublin office. It's nice to have some WFH flexibility, especially if the client is okay with it for IT services projects. For some project roles, there's good remote from Ireland potential too.
Cons: Sometimes the 'hybrid' just means you're expected onsite more often for client-facing projects. Can't always pick your WFH days, which is tough. There's not much flexibility if your project manager is old school; it really varies a lot by team.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid model across all client projects. Give employees more choice in WFH days, don't just leave it to individual project managers.

Growth is there, but you gotta work for it
Pros: I've learned a ton working here, especially on tough client projects in the digital transformation area. As an IT Consultant, there are chances to develop new skills if you speak up. They do have some training modules that are solid.
Cons: Career growth isn't always clear, especially for consulting roles if you're stuck on a long project. You have to really push for promotions and new challenges, it's not always proactively offered. The pace can make it tough to focus on personal development outside of billable work in the Dublin office.
Advice to Management: Make career paths more transparent. Help managers better identify and nurture talent. Don't make people wait for annual reviews to discuss progression.

Leadership means well, but execution varies
Pros: I've worked here for a few years and some of the immediate project leadership is genuinely fantastic. There's a solid team culture, and the hybrid work model really helps with personal flexibility for my IT consulting role.
Cons: The biggest challenge is top-level leadership. Decisions often change course without clear communication, which makes long-term planning tough as a Software Engineer. Career growth pathways aren't always transparent, especially for the Dublin office.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer, more consistent communication from senior leadership down. Define and publicize transparent career progression frameworks for all roles, especially for software development professionals.
