Okay Place for Data Consulting, Culture is Mixed
Pros: I've worked as a Data Analyst here in the Naperville office for a couple of years. The projects are usually interesting, focusing on different data analytics challenges for various clients. It's a good way to get experience in the data consulting space, especially if you're newer to the field.
Cons: The company culture can be a bit cliquey, and sometimes the communication from leadership feels inconsistent. There's a lot of talk about a hybrid model, but often it feels more like everyone's just doing their own thing, making team cohesion tough. Work-life balance for data roles can swing wildly depending on the client.
Advice to Management: Focus on building more consistent team experiences, especially with the hybrid model. Clearer communication from leadership would also really help with morale and reduce confusion about company direction. Invest in truly fostering a united company culture across all teams.

Okay culture for a mid-sized tech company
Pros: You'll learn a lot here, especially if you're into cloud data solutions. The teams are usually pretty supportive, and I found good mentors for specific digital transformation projects. It's a decent place to get your foot in the door.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit inconsistent across different projects. Sometimes, it feels like leadership doesn't always have a clear vision, which impacts team morale. Work-life balance can get tough when client deadlines hit hard.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the company culture more across all departments and projects. Clearer communication from leadership would help a lot with consistency and employee engagement.

Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for a Data Engineer here is solid, especially for a mid-sized consulting firm. They do offer a 401k match, which is good and helps with long-term planning. Health insurance coverage is decent, nothing fancy but gets the job done for our Naperville, IL team.
Cons: Salary growth feels pretty slow compared to similar data analytics roles elsewhere. There aren't many performance bonuses or extra perks that make the compensation package really shine. PTO could definitely be more generous; it feels a bit tight.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing compensation bands for various data roles to ensure they are competitive with current market trends. Look into adding more compelling benefits or a clearer bonus structure to improve overall employee satisfaction with the pay and benefit package.
