Good folks, but career path can be slow
Pros: The people are genuinely nice, which makes daily onsite work pretty good. There's a lot of stability here, great for an entry-level civil engineer starting out. You get to work on solid infrastructure consulting projects.
Cons: Career growth is really slow for engineering roles, honestly. It feels like you hit a wall after a few years in the Springfield office. There isn't a clear path for promotion or mentorship.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer career progression tracks for engineers. Invest more in professional development and mentorship programs.

Decent place for engineers, but growth is slow
Pros: You get to work on a lot of different infrastructure projects, which is great for learning. The project variety for a Civil Engineer is definitely a plus. People in the Springfield, IL office are generally supportive.
Cons: Career growth can feel pretty stagnant. There isn't a clear path for advancement, especially past a certain point. Promotions don't come around often, and raises aren't always what you'd hope for.
Advice to Management: Management should work on creating clearer career paths for employees. Regular check-ins about growth and development would help motivate us.

Solid engineering firm, job security is okay
Pros: There's good job security here, especially with the infrastructure projects they handle. For civil engineering roles, you'll always have something to do. The Springfield, IL office stays pretty busy.
Cons: Career growth can feel slow at times. It's a big, mid-sized consulting firm, so you can sometimes feel like a cog. Don't expect rapid promotions.
Advice to Management: Focus on clear career paths for mid-level engineers. It'd help with retention.
