Okay flexibility for product managers, could be better
Pros: The hybrid model for Product Manager roles was decent, letting me work remote a few days a week. It's a solid setup for a corporate environment, not a startup, so you know what you're getting in terms of structure. Having the option to avoid the daily Chicago commute was a huge plus.
Cons: Even with hybrid, there were still many mandatory in-office days that limited true work flexibility. Sometimes it felt like WFH was just another office day with virtual meetings running late. You don't always get to pick your remote days freely.
Advice to Management: Really commit to the work flexibility you advertise. More autonomy for employees, especially in technical roles in the media intelligence industry, would go a long way. Review meeting structures to prevent WFH days from becoming even longer.

Solid Company, Culture Needs a Boost
Pros: You get great exposure to the media intelligence platform in the SaaS industry. As a Client Success Specialist, I learned a ton about PR software and client management. The benefits package is actually pretty decent.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit corporate and can be cliquey sometimes. There's not always open communication from leadership. It makes career growth feel a bit stuck if you're not in the 'in' crowd.
Advice to Management: Work on making the company culture more inclusive. Encourage transparent communication from leadership and promote based on merit, not just who you know. A more cohesive corporate environment would really help.

Pay is okay, benefits are decent at Cision
Pros: The health benefits are actually pretty good, especially for a corporate company. They cover a lot, which is nice. Remote work is a huge plus, giving me good flexibility as an Account Executive in SaaS sales.
Cons: The base pay isn't as competitive as other media intelligence companies out there. Our 401k match is pretty standard, nothing to brag about. Annual raises are usually minimal too.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation structure for key roles, especially within SaaS sales, to stay competitive in the media intelligence industry. This could help with retention.

Hybrid Model is Okay, Room for Improvement
Pros: For an Account Manager role, the hybrid model is a nice perk. I could usually work from home a few days a week, which was great for avoiding the Chicago office commute. They were pretty understanding if something came up and you needed to shift your days around.
Cons: The flexibility for us using their PR software isn't always consistent across teams. Sometimes you felt pressure to be in more, even if your tasks didn't really require it. Remote work policies felt a bit loosely defined sometimes.
Advice to Management: Standardize hybrid and remote work policies more clearly across all teams, especially for those working with the PR software, to ensure fairness and reduce pressure.
